I've not been around these parts for years, but Doctor Who has drawn me back.

Because I'm not sure if there's anyone who's been subscribed to this blog for over 18 years (!), but this post that I made in 2006 turns out to contain accidental spoilers for the most recent episode:

I'm just overjoyed by how GOOD a setup S TRIAD TECHNOLOGIES was.

Because yes, the uber-fan might discard the obvious TARDIS anagram and even the Susan possibility, but then TRIAD really catches you - especially with the reference to the three-part god in Harriet's lovely speech, which (I seem to recall?) literally calls one of them the other - at that point I was briefly convinced we were about to get Omega! So much wonderful misdirection that I didn't even notice Gabriel Woolf's voice, and I SCREAMED at the Sue Tech reveal.

Do we think that RTD wanted to do this with Impossible Planet/Satan Pit, but was talked out of it?

Delighted to have had the HTML tags for lj-cuts and links just flow from my fingers, even after years away. I don't really know any of you any more, but this place was my home for a very long time, and my body remembers.
